Innovative Library Offers Something Special
Toys are more than just fun — they can be important learning tools used for early childhood development, especially for children with unique abilities and needs. This library represents a new set of tools therapists can use to provide early intervention and help kids learn. For hundreds of Denver families, the library represents hope.
The Play and Learn Library offers therapists free loan access to some of the most sophisticated developmental toys and equipment:
- Specially designed switches and adaptive seating help children access toys and play with others
- Developmental toys appeal to the senses, encourage children to improve their motor, language and problem solving skills
- Specialized toys help children with vision or hearing needs learn new skills
- Toys are designed to promote productive play, improve self esteem, increase attention span and develop eye-hand coordination
Equipment is available only to the Denver Options network of providers, a group of more than 150 therapists who provide services for Denver families.
