What Does the Human Rights Committee Do?
The HRC protects the rights of individuals receiving services from the Community Center Board by:
- Participating in the review of informed consent
- Monitoring the customers' rights
- Reviewing behavior development programs for customers
- Monitoring the use of psychotropic medication by customer
- Monitoring the use of Emergency Control Procedures (ECP) and Safety Control Procedures (SCP)
- Reviewing the investigations of allegations of abuse or neglect in which customers are involved.
Who makes up the Human Rights Committee?
The HRC consists of a collection of people with backgrounds in behavioral intervention or the mental health field, as well as representatives of people receiving services. Those people can be parents, siblings, guardians, or an individual who is receiving services.
